Service Description

In conformation, movement speaks volumes. The way a dog carries itself on the lead can define how closely it meets the breed standard—and how favorably it's seen by the judge. In this focused 30-minute session, Chester L. Rose, Jr., All-Breed Professional Handler and PAWS Ahead™ Mentor, offers expert instruction in gaiting technique, lead control, and corrective strategies for common movement faults. With over four decades of experience, Chester brings a clear, effective approach to helping handlers move their dogs with purpose, grace, and alignment. This session emphasizes understanding your breed’s movement requirements, managing momentum through the lead, and knowing when and how to adjust in the moment. What You’ll Learn: Proper gaiting patterns and ring positioning Effective lead control to guide movement, not restrict it Common gait faults and correction techniques Adjusting gait to meet breed-specific expectations Timing, footwork, and handler body awareness Personalized feedback on movement and control Q&A based on your dog, goals, and level of experience Session Includes: 30-minute private session with Chester Rose Printable “Gaiting Reference Sheet” with lead control tips Ring pattern guide (down & back, triangle, L-shaped) Optional video critique follow-up ($15) Session Details: Format: Zoom or Google Meet Duration: 30 minutes Cost: $45 per session Add-On: 15-minute movement critique ($15) Mentor’s Note from Chester: "Movement should be an honest reflection of structure and training. Whether you’re managing a fast-moving hound or a compact toy breed, proper lead control and purposeful gaiting allow the dog to speak for itself. I’m here to help you fine-tune that message." – Chester L. Rose, Jr. All-Breed Professional Handler | PAWS Ahead™ Mentor | G’Rose Kennels
